Chinese Compliance Requirements for Health Food Imports

The objective of this webinar (45-minute presentation/15-minute Q&A) is to provide an update on Chinese regulations for health foods and guidance on how to import health foods into the country through registration, filing and cross border e-commerce. The webinar will help exporters gain a deeper understanding of regulations and the business operations in China.

Agenda

  • Chinese food safety supervision
  • Regulations for registration and filing of raw materials and functional claims
  • Applications for registration or filing
  • Requirements of border and marketing supervision
  • Cross border e-commerce of health food
  • SGS solutions for health food imported to China
  • Q&A

Regulatory Background

China’s food safety law (2015) classifies health food, infant formula and food for special medical purposes as ‘special food under strict supervision’. This is the first time the two-tiered system of registration and filing is required for health foods, following implementation of China’s “administrative measure on registration and filing of health food”.

China has an important and growing health food market. This webinar provides an opportunity to discover and ask questions about the regulations and recent changes.

Target Audience

This webinar is aimed at health food manufacturers and exporters, who are interested in exploring China’s market. It may be of particular interest to operators in the dietary supplement, food supplement, natural health, complementary medicines sectors, or their raw material suppliers.
