ISO 45001 is the world's first International Standard for Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S). It promotes a safe and healthy working environment by providing a framework that allows organisations to identify and reduce their OH&S risks, reduce the potential for workplace accidents and illnesses, and improve legislative compliance.

Carl Deaves – Global Product Manager Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems – has extensive experience of health, safety and quality assurance auditing, including work experience in the construction, chemicals, transport, manufacturing, local authority, commercial and service industries. In January 2017 he was appointed UK Technical & Accreditation Manager. Prior to working for SGS, Carl held a number of quality and health and safety management roles in the engineering, fabrication and construction sectors.
