Social housing budgets are tight and getting tighter. The challenge is to reduce costs around asbestos surveying, whilst mitigating risks to tenants, employees and contractors from accidental exposure to asbestos fibre release.

During this webinar (45-minute presentation/15-minute Q&A) presenter Alasdair Nairn, technical manager at SGS, with 17 years experience in asbestos consultancy, will speak about asbestos surveys in domestic properties and will explore:

  • Legislative background
  • What is a domestic property?
  • What is not a domestic property?
  • Why does this matter?
  • Common problems
  • Approaches used
  • Difficulties
  • Limitations
  • Case study, with Graham Warren of ACAD

SGS is a UKAS accredited asbestos consultancy in the UK and, using our extensive experience, we provide innovative asbestos survey regimes to assist housing associations to understand their asbestos liabilities without the need to survey all properties. This reduces tenant disturbance, costs and timescale for larger projects.
