Background
The IFS started the review process of IFS Cash & Carry/Wholesale Version 1 in 2014, four years after its publication in February 2010. The objective was to review the requirements and align the audit protocol with other standards published by the IFS, such as IFS Food and IFS Logistics and Broker.
During the review process, the requirements have been reviewed and aligned with IFS Food Version 6 to ensure a common approach across all IFS standards. Furthermore, the scoring system and recertification due dates have been aligned with all other standards of IFS. Based on the feedback from the market, the scope has also been reviewed to enable fruit and vegetable packing stations, as well as egg packing stations, to enter the IFS Cash & Carry scheme as IFS Food is deemed to be slightly oversized for these kind of simple packaging companies.
