Course Overview

Children investigate the world in different ways largely depending on their age at the time. Whenever they start investigating they can put themselves at risk. Whilst we as adults cannot prevent children from exploring their surroundings we can reduce their risk by understanding the potential pitfalls.

The seminar aims to provide understanding of the pitfalls associated with clothing and children’s behaviour and so makes their adventures that little less hazardous.

This course will address your interest in the recognising potential risks, assessing the levels of risk from cords, drawstrings and other mechanical and chemical hazards. Instruction will provide an understanding of the hazards involved and the available tools such as legislation, codes of practice and due diligence testing. We will also give some pointers to where you might go for more information and keep abreast of changes in legislation.

We encourage delegates to bring samples along for discussion during the day; this always introduces a level of spontaneity and makes the seminar much more interesting.

The seminar is especially suited to designers, buyers and technologists.
