AMSTERDAM , Jan. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading events organiser, UBM Live, today announced that it has successfully accredited five of its European events with the prestigious ISO 20121 Standard for Sustainable Event Management. The newly certified events include some of UBM Live's largest and most diverse: CPhI Worldwide, Fi Europe , Hi Europe/Ni/NuW, Business4Better UK, and the Protection and Management Series (including IFSEC, FAC, SHE and Firex).  Further adding to the distinction, the UBM Live office in Amsterdam is now fully ISO 20121 certified as well.

The achievement of this International Standard is an extension of UBM Live's pledge to responsible business. Following the BS 8901 certification and the recent recognition for its systems management approach to sustainable development, given by UFI, this distinguished certification exemplifies the progress UBM Live made in incorporating sustainability into every aspect of business.

The ISO 20121 Standard focuses on management commitment and leadership, as well as stakeholder engagement for all aspects of sustainability. UBM Live has shown leadership in these areas and a continuing dedication to reduce the environmental impact of the event while increasing the positive impact on communities in which the business operates. The auditor, Ana Inacio from SGS, was impressed with the awareness, general employee engagement and the improvement in processes which all of the teams were involved in.

UBM Live has demonstrated an unusual understanding of what Sustainability is and how to embed it in its organisation, considering all the Sustainability pillars in a balanced and holistic way.
