Charter Mark Welcome to the SGS Charter Mark Community Following appointment by the Cabinet Office, from January 2004 SGS was able to offer public sector organisations certification services of the highly prestigious Charter Mark Standard. In June 2006 Bernard Herdan, former Chief Executive of the United Kingdom Passport Service was asked to carry out an independent review of the current Charter Mark Assessment scheme and look at other customer service issues for public sector services. If you would like to read Bernard’s report and recommendations, click here. Following this review, the government has taken into account Bernard Herdan’s recommendations and as a result a new Government Customer Service Standard was released in March 2008. From 1st July 2008, any initial or renewal assessments must take place under the new scheme – Customer Service Excellence. We offer a tailored service to meet your particular needs and requirements. We believe strongly in reducing the amount of work and effort required to apply for Charter Mark. SGS believe in supporting their clients throughout the full three years of certification and as such still have a dedicated team of staff working solely to meet the needs of existing Charter Mark holders and offer advice and support on transitions to the new Customer Service Excellence Standard. You can contact the team on freephone +44 (0) 800 900094 or via email.
